SPRING 2024
January 2024 and a New Year starts, painting and printing took place which had been on the children's wish list.
February and we talked about the Chinese New Year, reading the story of the animals in the zodiac and all about what year you were born and the animal that year. Dragon models were made as this year is the year of the dragon, and colouring pictures depicting the Chinese celebration. Writing Chinese was difficult, but we had a go!
March a busy month with Mother's Day cards and small glass vases to fill with flowers to complete for Mum's special day. Thank you for the lovely comments from you all on how you liked your gifts.
Ramadan the start of a Muslim celebration which commenced on the 10th of March and we decorated pictures that showed what it was all about. A large, themed Ramadan colour in tablecloth brought the children together in a group project. The children all took part and we looked at books about this festival.
Easter we made cream egg gnomes and decorated bags with cards. We read the Easter story and the children shared, during group chats, what they were learning at school about this Christian celebration.
April and we were all hoping for good weather to get out and play. We have had a few dry afternoons and the football, skipping ropes, bats and balls plus more sports equipment is having an airing and being played with.
We have put on a project themed 'The Romans' for wet times which will include a mosaic competition.
